- The ANSN was established by the IAEA in 2002 to pool, analyse, and share nuclear safety-related information, knowledge, and experience among participating countries.
- Since its inception, more than 720 activities have taken place under the umbrella of the ANSN with the vision to enhance the Nuclear Safety Infrastructure in Asian countries.
- The topics span a wide range, encompassing regulatory infrastructure for nuclear power program, design and operational safety of NPP, EPR, and transport of nuclear materials.
- Currently 11 Asian countries are participating as member countries as well as 3 as supporting countries from other regions.
